Our Story
Weber Maritime was founded in 1989
Our heritage includes work on some of the most iconic ships
The genesis of Weber Maritime dates back to the Viking age (AD) the Original ship builders, It has been a family business pass down from generation until now. There was an eruption of family crisis that led to the loss of the family company (Oceanwave Naval Architecture Ltd) Which started its journey as a small workshop to repair Vessels of river steam navigation company. In 1940, the company was registered under the Denmark Companies Act.
Starting its new journey Oceanwaves Naval Architecture played an active role during the German occupation of world War 2 wherein over 500 Vessels were repaired here. The Company grew unexpectedly with lots of shares bought, newly opened branches around Europe and the Blatic states, assisted in the building of the first warship for Indian Navy, the Seaward Defence Boat (SDB) INS Ajay in 1961. Also assisted in building the first ever Indian export warship CGS Barracuda for the Government of Mauritius, delivered FPV "SCG PS Zoroaster" to the Government of Seychelles and an Ocean going cargo & passengers Ferry "MV MA Lisha" for cooperative Republic of Guyana.
Oceanwaves Naval Architecture aided the Baltic states internationally in achieving marine experiences around the globe, 2 decades ago It assisted in building the ultra large crude carrier one of the largest double hull tanker ever built. Apart from ship building and repair, Oceanwaves Naval Architecture has been restructured to the new World with a new name (Weber Maritime) and has also diversified into engineering business with a product profile of Architectural designing, various deck machinery items and assembly as well as testing & overhauling of marine diesel engines.
